Which forms of payment are accepted online at samsclub.com and which are accepted In-Club?
To purchase with samsclub.com, you may use a Sam's Club Credit Account, Wal-Mart/Sam's Club Shopping Card, Check, Discover®, Visa, MasterCard® or American Express®. To purchase at a Sam's Club location, you may only use either a Sam's Club Credit Account, Discover®, MasterCard®, Debit Card, Shopping Card, Cash or Check. American Express and Visa are not accepted for In-Club purchases.

How do I pay online with a check?
"Pay With Check" will be a payment option at checkout. To use this payment method, you will need your checkbook, driver's license or ID card number and date of birth. Fill in the bank's routing number and your bank account number, ID number, and birth date. For questions about how to find this information, please contact your bank.

Please note that if a check order is cancelled for any reason, please allow 2 to 5 business days from the time of the order cancellation, for the refund to process and to be reflected in the bank account.

Is online check payment secure?

Our online checking capabilities are guaranteed by Telecheck, our online checking provider. We use a technology called Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which encrypts (or encodes) sensitive information before it is sent over the Internet. For more information, read our Privacy Policy.

How does samsclub.com receive the payment from my bank account?
Telecheck will create an electronic funds transfer (EFT) or bank draft which will be presented to your bank or financial institution for payment from your bank account. The bank account must be at a financial institution in the United States, and the check must be payable in U.S. dollars.

When you pay with your bank account, you authorize the information provided to be used for creation of an electronic funds transfer (EFT) or bank draft, and you authorize a debit of the full amount of this order from your bank account. The debit may take place immediately, so funds must be readily available. You agree that if the EFT or bank draft is returned unpaid, you will pay a service charge of $25 or the maximum allowed by law, which may be debited from your account using an EFT or bank draft.

Will I have to pay sales tax when shopping with samsclub.com?
Sam's Club does business throughout the United States and is required by law to collect sales tax based on the delivery destination of your order.

Will I have to pay sales tax when purchasing a Sam's Club membership?
By law, Sam's Club is required to collect sales tax on memberships purchased in Arizona, Hawaii, Louisiana, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, South Dakota, Utah, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

How do I set up tax-exempt status?
If you are currently a Business Member and would like to apply for tax exempt status at Sam's Club, please call or e-mail the Sam's Club Tax Department using the methods described below.

To apply for tax exempt status you can:
  1. Call the Tax Department at 479-204-2101 or 479-277-1273
    Mon. thru Fri. between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. CST

  2. E-mail the Tax Department at TAXDEPTS26@wal-mart.com
    You will receive a response within two business days.
Please provide your Primary Member First and Last Name, Membership Number, Phone Number, E-mail address, State and Type of Business or Organization in the e-mail.

If you are not a Business Member but would like to become one and apply for tax exempt status at Sam's Club you will need to go to the nearest Club to apply for a Membership. The Primary Member on the Business Membership account must be the person to apply for tax exempt status.

How do I pay my Sam's Club® Discover® Dual Membership and Credit Card Account?
With your Sam's Club Discover Dual Membership and Credit Card, you can pay your bill in two ways, either by mail when you receive your statement or online by visiting www.samsclubdiscover.com. Register your credit account for online servicing and pay your bill online with convenient checking account or balance transfers - even schedule payments in advance. By registering online you can also update your account information, view recent activity, request a credit line increase, and sign up for electronic statements.

How do I pay to renew my Membership?
As a Sam's Club Member, you have many options for renewing your Membership. These options include renewing by mail, online or in person. When you receive your renewal notice in the mail you can send a check, money order or credit card information to pay for your renewal.

If you would like to save the stamp, you can renew online by clicking the Renew Now link on the home page and following the simple steps. To pay for your renewal online you can use any of the online payment types accepted including Sam's Club Credit, Wal-Mart/Sam's Club Shopping Card, Check, Discover®, Visa, MasterCard or American Express.

If you would like to renew while you are visiting your local Club, you may do so at the Member Service Desk or while you are checking out your purchases. Payment methods accepted at the Club include Sam's Club Credit, Wal-Mart/Sam's Club Shopping Card, Cash, Check, Debit Card, or Discover® Card.

Can someone else pay for my purchase using my membership at samsclub.com?
At samsclub.com, we are very concerned about your account security and safety. When you join Sam's Club, you gain access to our "Member's Only" benefits and discounts. When paying for your order online, we must insure that the name on the payment method matches the name on the membership to insure your membership is secure. For this reason, orders without matching information will be cancelled.

Can I pay with more than one type of card or account?
Yes, you can pay for your purchases at samsclub.com using more than one credit card, shopping card or bank account.

How do I pay for an item if I need to use more than one card or account?
To pay with a combination of cards or accounts you will checkout as normal. When selecting your payment type, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Pay with a Combination of Payment Types” button. Follow the simple instructions to select and enter your payment types and amounts. Complete your transaction as normal. It’s that simple.

Can I use food stamps at Sam's Club?
As a service to our members during the current economic environment, we have recently started accepting government issued EBT cards for the purchase of products within our clubs in select locations. While our intention is to accept EBT at Sam's Clubs nationwide, we are still in the process of activating it. We encourage members to check with local state agencies for details or their nearest Sam's Club.
